Cozy Classroom Rug
Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you for our beautiful new classroom rug! The students love gathering on the carpet to have morning meetings. They also gather to share stories, and work through out the day. We were using a much smaller rug until our new one came in. The day it was delivered they screamed for joy and one student said, "Yay, we all fit now!" I'm not sure who was more excited, the students or myself. It is a fantastic work space and the colors are bright and vibrant.
We also love the storage ottoman. We have a large class and having an extra place to store items is perfect. Sitting on the ottoman is a special treat. We reserve that privilege the students who are showing respect and responsibility.
Our class is so appreciative of your donation. Your generosity brought many smiles to our classroom this year and will continue to do so for years to come. Thank you!”

Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for the Scholastic News. We absolutely love and look forward each week to explore our new non fiction topic. The colorful magazines are perfect for first graders to read. They enjoy taking them home to read to their parents and siblings as well. Scholastic also does a great job with offering online activities that match the printed topic. They have corresponding online games, songs, videos and paper pencil activities. For example, this week we discussed fire safety. A fireman came to our school and explained what to do to keep safe. It was wonderful to have a matching magazine all about fire safety and the online content was a great way for them to practice what they had learned. This would not be possible without your support. We appreciate you and your generous donation.”

Funded Oct 22, 2020Thank you so much for the Scholastic Magazines. The kids love reading the current and engaging text that is written in a kid friendly format. Using Scholastic News and Science Spin Magazines allows my students the opportunity to read and explore nonfiction text with the actual magazines in their hands. They enjoy taking them home at the end of the day to share with their families. These magazines enhance the various topics being covered in the classroom. Each month, Scholastic News Magazines cover topics about holidays or events happening in that month that the children can relate to. Science Spin gives amazing visuals and more in depth information about the topics we are covering in our class. These magazines make learning more fun and engaging each time we use them. The kids love non-fiction Friday now! They are so excited to see what the new magazine will teach them. Thank you, thank you!”

Funded Aug 11, 2020Receiving the Teacher Pay Teachers gift card has opened the door for hundreds of possibilities. We now have access to interactive materials which ensures that learning from a distance can still be fun, individualized and engaging. We have entered into our hybrid model of teaching where half stay home and learn virtually, the other half come to school. Each morning we hold a morning meeting to encourage children to express themselves. This is where we build important social and emotional lessons purchased through Teachers Pay Teachers. They include handling emotions, self-regulation, growth mindset, social awareness, friendship, kindness, respect, and responsibility. Thanks to you, our hybrid classroom can still build relationships and communicate effectively in a digital world. Our reading and math lessons have also been enhanced because of your generosity. We now have first grade students engaged whether they are learning from home or from the classroom. Thank you so much for your support! We are truly grateful!”

Funded Mar 6, 2020We love our new books in our classroom library! It was like Christmas when they arrived. With these new additions, my students are able to choose from a variety of books that they can read independently at their own level. They are also able to choose books that interest them. I have a couple of little boys that LOVE learning about dinosaurs. Before, the dinosaur books were too hard for them to read but now they can enjoy learning more about them with these new books that are written on their learning level. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. The kids have already shown a bigger interest in independent reading since introducing our new books. Thank you so much for your support. Your kindness is helping to grow new readers everyday!”

Funded Jun 18, 2020We are so excited to be back for in person learning. Your donations have made learning fun again. The kids have so much enthusiasm for guided reading now because they get to play with the new learning blocks and literacy games. Our rug is beautiful and when it is deemed safe to use, we will gladly do so. The word blocks, white boards, and games are used daily for reading practice. The learning games are a hands-on way to practice important phonics and decoding skills in an engaging and fun way. They are even building words and sentences for indoor recess now. These learning materials represent a variety of skill levels, so every child in my classroom can play and learn at the level that is appropriate for them. These items will be used now and for years to come. We can't thank you enough for your generosity!”

Flexible Fun in First!
Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for funding our flexible seating options in our first grade class. The students absolutely love all of our new seating options. It was like Christmas when all the packages started to arrive. For a couple of weeks the students couldn't wait to come to class to see what new item had arrived. It was so exciting to see the joy on all their faces .
The WOBBLE stools and balance balls allow them to work at a desk or table but still have some movement. These are extremely beneficial to the students that struggle with sitting in a traditional chair. The soft stool set and floor cushions are also a favorite. They allow students to spread out around the classroom to complete work. The storage ottoman and bench are popular places for the children to gather. They love to write, read stories and play school.
These seating options give my students the ability to choose a work space that is the best fit for them. Flexible seating not only provides my students with motivation and enthusiasm, but creates independence and ownership in their educational experience. Thanks again for donating to our class. Our next project will be to add a few more soft stools, more books and a carpet or two. Your support was very much appreciated and all of the materials are being put to use every single day. Thank you!”

Funded Mar 12, 2018Thank you so much for funding our unplugged project. It was like Christmas in our classroom with all the boxes of goodies to open. I don't know who was more excited the kids or myself. Indoor recess and morning meetings have a completely different look to them now. The kids are talking, interacting, creating and laughing. I love to watch the interactions and problem solving among the kids. They will form small groups and decide what game to play or what objects they want to build. The enthusiasm is evident as they shout, "Mrs. Stamp, watch this," when their marble goes down a newly built marble run. It is so nice to have a new bookshelf to house all of the games. Our rugs work perfectly for reading or working on the floor. I am hoping to begin a new project this summer that would allow the students to have flexible seating choices. Thank you again for the wonderful materials. Our class is truly appreciate of your generosity!”
