  • Filament for 3D Printing and STEM

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations that allowed us to purchase new filament color options for our classroom. My 5th grade students were so excited to choose colors for the printing of their 3D creations. My 4th graders are just learning to design and will be printing theirs before the end of the month. It was so wonderful to have so many options for them to bring their creations to life. The filament has also been used to create my weekly 3D prizes. Each class has two students who are awarded a small 3d print of the week, every time they come to class. Kinders all the way through 5th grade are always anxious to see what the new print is, which color it is and who earns it! Thank you for making this more fun for them!”

  • Building Through 3D Printing

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

I am so appreciative of the ongoing support that my local families and families from beyond Snoqualmie Valley give to my students and school. The students are SO excited to begin 3D print design. So far they have all gotten to see it working while they're in class. I have been giving two small 3d printed prizes out to each class every week. They are always so excited to see what the prize of the week is! Seeing their amazement as the machine works and build the model is so cool. I can't wait to see what they can dream up in the design area.

Thank you so much for believing in our mission and students!”

  • 3D Printer

    Funded Apr 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our school and students at CVES. The addition of this 3d printer to our curriculum will be so valuable. Due to covid, students were not able to use it themselves or see it in action last year. My students were however able to enjoy it by seeing creations I printed for them come home. I created prizes themed to the work they did in class to send home.

This year students will begin a journey of learning 3d design in tinkercad. They will be able to see (IN PERSON) their creations come to life. I can't wait for this. We are building our skills to be able to do this in the second and third trimester. When I have the printer running in the classroom, the students are always amazed and so excited to learn these new skills. Your donation is inspiring these young minds.”

  • Wireless Microphone for Student Accessibility

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

Thank you so much for your amazing contribution to my classroom. Sadly, I was not able to get kids back in my class in person this year. We have been on zoom, so I have not yet been able to utilize this in the classroom. I can't wait to have students in person for coding again in the fall and have this tool to use with them. I know that having the ability to have my voice be heard more easily at the back of the class is going to help both myself (less voice statin) end the students at CVES. I can't wait to get to use it. Thank you again for your support and being a part of what makes SVSD such a great place to live and teach.”

  • Sphero Coding!

    Funded Oct 15, 2019

Thank you for putting these amazing learning tools into the hands of my students. Each time I tell them they get to use them, the classes are thrilled and so excited.

With all our snow we have been rotating them slowly through grade levels and classes. I can't wait for each child to get the opportunity to explore coding and technology with them. I set up goals and soccer turf so they can mimic using the soccer spheros with goals--so much fun.

Some of my students struggle in class to see that they're coding the images on the computer. They have been able to apply the skills we learned in class with block coding to manipulate the spheros. It's so neat to see their excitement when it moves how they expected it to! The real life application is amazing. Thank you so much for your support in our classroom.”

  • Flexible Seating for Success

    Funded Jan 9, 2020

Wow! Thank you all so much for your generous donations. I’m so excited to get these for the students. I’ve students this week ask me about getting more and know how thrilled they will be! I love teaching at CVES and am so appreciative of the support of our community.”

My students primarly use laptops and iPads for coding. They're able to see the characters move on screen. Students learn so much when they can use them hands on and truly see how their robot responds to what they've coded. It allows them to problem solve, work through challenges, and work together with classmates. The Spheros allow the students to program with the iPad and move the ball through a series of challenges and problem solve. These critical thinking skills are so valuable to be carried over to other curricular areas as well. There is something so magical about seeing what you made come to life, and move in real life.
