Building Our Way to Success!
Funded Jan 28, 2012Thank you so much for helping us reach this goal! Our storage unit is amazing! Now, all our math manipulatives are neatly organized and easy to access. Also, the students' artwork is stored in this storage cabinet, as well as all our paper. Our games, toys, and puzzles all fit too!
The students love the new building materials we've received too! Thanks to you, we now have magnetic blocks, Legos, and snapping people climbers. The students love them all! Building manipulatives are a great way to learn through play. The students can now let their creativity flow, while building their spatial skills and having fun.
Thanks to all these components, our learning environment is inviting and well organized. The students' days are filled with a variety of activities and resources in an organized way that make it easy for students to learn from these materials.”

Organizing our Classroom Library
Funded Jan 10, 2012Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal of organizing our classroom library. Fortunately, through the years, I have been able to build a rich collection of books covering all the literary genres. Now, the students can access any book from any genre efficiently. Our classroom library now has labeled bins that have allowed us to streamline our library while taking up less space!
The students no longer spend extra time looking through endless boxes of books trying to find the right one to meet their needs and likes. This affords us more learning time! Thank you for making this all happen!”

Funded Dec 22, 2011What a difference this project has made in our classroom! With your support, we were able to purchase a special iPad cable to be able to project anything that we look up on our iPad. We have been reading The Magic Tree House series and the students always have questions about the people, places, and things we read about every day. As we read this series, as well as all our other readings, we make a list of things we want to find out more about. We even have lists for our science content. The students are always excited about making these lists because they love using the iPad to find pictures, information, and videos about the various topics. Visualizing is an important part of reading, but actually seeing what they pictured makes it all more exciting. The cable allows all the students to have access to the content. It's especially helpful to our English language learners who need that visual aspect to be able to comprehend.
Our ipod dock has helped tremendously as well. We have been able to use this equipment by accessing the technology provided by the publishing companies of our reading and math series. I am able to play the cds and the downloaded content from my iPod remotely. This is so useful because I can circulate around the room, monitoring the children's participation and tracking while being able the stop the cd at anytime to ask/answer questions or clarify.”

Funded May 20, 2010My class and I want to thank you so much for making our "Students Take Flight with Butterflies Friends" Project possible. Because the supplier sent us more than we anticipated, each student got to take care of and witness the life cycle of 2 butterflies each, and we were able to share our extra caterpillars with our whole grade level. So, 4 classes instead of just ours benefited from your generosity!
The students kept a Butterfly Journal to document their observations and the progress of their own butterflies. They were so overjoyed every step of the way. This was evidenced in their journals as well as in the pictures I took of them. Furthermore, each student not only witnessed firsthand the life cycle process, but each and every student got to feel the tickle of a butterfly on their hands before releasing them into our environment! What an experience this was! It will live in their memories forever. Thank you!!! ”
