Bringing My Students to the 21st Century With Technology.
Funded May 14, 2019Thank you for your generous donation. Your donation has allowed my students the opportunity to have technology in multiple settings whether we are watching a building background video, they are working in a group or if they have to finish up their assignment in a class. This addition to the classroom makes it more rewarding.
As the Intensive Reading and Special Education (ESE) teacher many times I have to float around the school to service the students that are in need. this lightweight MacBook makes it all the easier to bring with me the laptop and put students on programs or go over a lesson n a small group using technology.
Many of my students do not have access to technology at home. Therefore I had to explain to them the importance of maintaining and handling the MacBook. Students have a new respect for the item. They are very excited about getting the opportunity to use it delicately.
Unlike some of the materials that they have in the class in which are missing functionalities, sounds or buttons. This MacBook allows them to successfully get their assignment and assessments completed. As soon as the item arrived the students were amazed to open the box and see that it was a Macbook. I am so excited to give them the opportunity to feel special and up to date it would not be possible without your generous donation. Thank you so much.”

Funded Sep 19, 2018Thank you for your generous monetary donation. With your generosity my students were able to receive the necessary back to school supplies needed in order to be successful in class and at home. The students rate of turning in homework assignments have increased and classroom activities have gotten to be more interesting for the students and myself, without the stress of improvising or sharing to get work done.
As soon as the students received the shipment they were curious to find out what was in the boxes. The students were so excited to find out that the goodies were for them. At the time of the delivery, they were working on Spanish Heritage Month projects with limited supplies. When the students opened the back to school supplies, their faces lit up with joy as they got excited to see that their classroom project would be a success because they had the necessary materials. Students used the sharpener, markers, chart paper and pencils to begin their Spanish Heritage project. Each student was able to utilize a folder to put their homework in so that it did not get crumbled in their backpack. Some students were excited just to have a new pencil that they could use throughout the day. I had to rush the students off the sharpener as they wanted to continuously sharpen pencils with the blade because they were so amazed that the sharpener did not ruin their pencil as the previous sharpener would do.
Currently, students will be working on thanksgiving and holiday projects. They are continuously taking notes and using the supplies o assist with creative ways of learning. Students are so excited to be in the reading/language arts class and their grades along with their confidence are improving. I am now able to include them in essay contest that are going on around the school and the school district.
Again, thank you for all you do for our kids. You are a part of their lives too.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for the Chromebooks that you provided for my class! My students are using them in class to build their reading, writing, and comprehension skills with science and social studies texts. Now that they have access to more technology, they are able to become more proficient with technology and digital text. This benefits them to be successful in school and in their future. Many of them do not have opportunities to use technology outside of school because they are limited in the community and their families cannot afford to buy them fur their house. Thank you for helping making it possible for them and your generous contribution.”
