My students come from a range of cultural backgrounds and that brings a range of educational levels. They love to be able to work with me in a small group atmosphere where it's just me and them with a few other students. Small groups allow me to individualize their learning focus to their needs. My students are at the age that is taking responsibility for their learning and working to better themselves each day. This project can help the students become self-aware and self-advocating of their next goals in their reading education. The intervention supplies will be used in small groups with the teacher. Reading is of great importance to understand all subjects and the intervention kits will help the students excel in this subject area. In order to do that we will meet in small groups where they will use their whiteboards and Expo markers to show and tell me what they know. The headphones can be hooked up to my speaker system so they can hear only me and not the distraction of the other kids in the classroom. They can also use them with their iPads once I send them off for independent work. The printer will be used to print off extra small group work and center work for students not only in the small group but in the entire class for years to come. All of the supplies listed will be able to be used for years!
