Stronger Together With Social Emotional Learning!
Funded Dec 23, 2022Thank you again for funding this project! This printer, with its small size, has been very convenient to take along to the classes that I service. It is easy to set up using my smart phone and since I know how long each photo takes to print, I allot time for that during the lesson. I allow students to take part in the process of taking the picture, loading the paper, and printing it. These pictures are then used to display throughout the school in projects or student take it home.
I also use this with the Peer Buddies that volunteer in school. These are 4th and 5th grade students that work with younger students during lunch. They serve as role models for important social/emotional learning such as self- awareness, self-management, personal responsibility, and relationship building skills. The younger students really enjoy spending time with their buddies.
I, as well as the students, really like the fact that it's " instant gratification" to see the
photos printed on demand. They enjoy seeing them posted and taking them home and sharing them with their families. It's because of donors like you that have made this possible.”

Funded Mar 4, 2014I would like to let you know how appreciative my students and I are for your generous support.Your contribution goes beyond the financial kind. I believe you chose to fund this project because you believe that promoting positive character values is crucial. Having the laser printer was instrumental in this promotion.
The laser printer was used to post each of our monthly character education themes throughout the school. This helped spark discussions among students as they discussed what they know about each theme. Images displaying or promoting each theme were also printed. Each year we highlight our "Respect For All, By All" initiative by having at least two shows that deliver this message through singing, dancing, videos, discussions, and guest performers. The printer was used to publicize these events. It was also used to promote contests we had in our school to highlight these positive character traits. In continuing to build school leaders and maintaining a positive school culture, I train students as peer mediators. Peer mediation offers students an alternative to unproductive behaviors while building positive social/ life skills. The printer was used for their training manuals and also to advertise the benefits of peer mediation.
In this age of the Common Core, it is important that we do not neglect the core values that are important to model and teach. A society with no regard for respect or that lacks any compassion or kindness, or where integrity is the exception and not the rule, is a society that will ultimately regret their negligence. I wish more people would understand this the way you obviously do. Thank you again!”

Photo Printer to Promote Respect
Funded Dec 26, 2012Thank you again for your generous support. Our common vision of teaching children values such as respect, integrity, and compassion is one of the reasons we have come together. I just want you to know that you are directly responsible for making a positive contribution and change to our school.
The photo printer has been used extensively. Each month our school focuses on a particular character education principle. Pictures are taken of students displaying the monthly character trait and are posted on multiple bulletin boards throughout the school. When students were involved in shows or pep rallies, pictures were also taken and displayed. I also took pictures during our basketball practices. The pictures prominently show teamwork, determination, effort, and lots of fun! Students are constantly checking the bulletin boards for new pictures because they know there's a chance they may find themselves on it! I believe that this has encouraged students to help promote our policy of "Respect For All, By All."
I will continue to do my part in promoting respect throughout the school and community. I have great allies in my fellow teachers, the parents, administrators, students, and of course you.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rodriguez
