  • GATE is GR8T!

    Funded Nov 4, 2023

My 5th grade gifted and talented students were so excited to dissect a sheep's brain are part of our culminating activity to our brain unit. We have been studying the human brain structures and functions for weeks, but learning through research, pictures, and videos does not hold as much meaning as actually getting to see a brain and it's different parts up close. My students start learning about growth mindset in 3rd grade and in 4th grade we learn about learning styles and multiple intelligences. 5th grade is always the year that they are most excited about because of the brain dissection. This learning opportunity was only made possible because of the generous donation given to our class by you donors, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lax

  • Girls That Code!

    Funded Nov 19, 2019

Thank you so much for helping to fund our class project where we were able to get 3 Chrome Books! My gifted students are using the Chrome Books to learn about computer programming and coding. We started off using Code.org so my students would understand what it means to code and how to do it. Now we have moved on to coding our Ozobots using the coding skills we learned from Code.org.

The majority of my students have never seen a robot in person and they can't believe what they can do with technology to control the robot.

Again, thank you for giving my students the opportunity to advance their interests, education, and future as potential programmers.”

    With gratitude,

  • Gifted Students Are Our Future!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for helping to fund our class project where we were able to get 2 iPads! My gifted students are using the iPads to learn about computer programming and coding. We started off using Code.org so my students would understand what it means to code and how to do it. Now we have moved on to coding our Ozobots using the coding skills we learned from Code.org.

With the iPads my students are using the Ozobot apps to wirelessly control the Ozobots, change their color, and program them to move, turn, change speed, dance and so much more!

The majority of my students have never seen a robot in person and they can't believe what they can do with technology to control the robot.

Again, thank you for giving my students the opportunity to advance their interests, education, and future as potential programmers.”

    With gratitude,

In a gifted and talented classroom, students are given the opportunity to experience curriculum in a more advanced approach. The introduction of computer programming and coding, using iPads, could lead students into the field of technology for their future. Without these experiences, in the gifted classroom, these students might not have the opportunity to enhance their natural abilities and talents. The iPads will allow students to use software to plan, test and modify sequences of instructions from a variety of real life robotic behaviors. The students will use critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and communication to build and program the robots.
