    Funded Aug 30, 2023

This donation comes right on time! Our students will greatly appreciate these tools and the opportunities they will provide them. From organization skills, to motor skills, social and emotional learning students are certain to benefit in more ways than one. Thank you tremendously for your consideration of our wildcats scholars.”

  • Fun, Facts, Media! Oh My!

    Funded Aug 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to enriching our Hilliard Wildcats. With the uncertainty and limits around access to print, Scholastic Magazine is just one resource that helps me to bridge that gap in building a grade level print rich, multimedia environment. The content is not only interactive and interesting but an incentive and motivator for student success.”

  • The Great Sphero Challenge

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Students are testing their limits and interests in coding and problem solving. We Started off challenging students to code their way through obstacle courses and then challenged students to design their own mazes and games. Students with deeper interest have sought more coding apps in our library Makerspaces.

Students were very excited to learn that they might be able to use the Spheros in class to continue exploration.

We are looking to expand coding in the library and are very excited to see where it takes us.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Living

This classroom project was brought to life by The First Million Fund and 3 other donors.
A couple 5th graders wandered into the library and what followed was nothing short of a wonder. A think tank ensued and the final product was the Great Sphero Challenge. They proposed a challenge of ingenuity to other 5th graders. Create an obstacle course or game that is fully functional, portable, and from recyclable materials with the hopes for the hopes of winning their own class Sphero for class activities and lessons. Students may take these engineering planning and team skills into any career field they should choose. But the technology component is especially essential for this generation of learners.
