A great thank you for making this project a go. Words cannot describe how this will allow me to interact and engage students not only during this unusual time of the Covid 19 pandemic but in years to come. I am so excited that this project has been fully funded.”

Thank you for your generosity in funding this project. These are unusual times, and having materials that will bring a sense of normal to students is vital. I know that all of my students and students in subsection years will benefit from your thoughtfulness. It’s good to know in times of darkness there are rays of sunshine.”

Thank you for your incrediable generosity in supporting my students. Students will be surprised to learn of the good news as they come back from winter break next week. They will be even more excited as we play games to review key concepts and begin our story quilts project this spring.”

Thank you for your donation. Students have gravitated to the books in our classroom now, and seek time to read! :-) Students can't wait until we have reading time. After student have had reading time, I often have a student come up to me and ask me if I knew "X", as they had just read something fascinating in one of the books. For second graders being exposed to many types of books is important to developing literacy skills. Along with exposing to students to the wider world, engaging their imaginations and sense of awe! Thank you so much!”
My classroom does not have a collection of books for students to read. We work out of our reading text and students crave more. So setting up an area that students can read is important to me, especially in 2nd grade. While I've got the area - we don't have the books.
In second grade, students are learning to become fluent readers and told the Dr Seuss quote ... "The more you read, the more you know, the more you know, the more places you will go." We just need the resources so students know what it means to read for enjoyment.
