Flexible seating is an empowering option for students, that will ultimately benefit them in multiple areas. The ideas and concepts behind flexible seating are research based. Research tells us that getting students physically active is directly linked to higher academic performance. Children are given the opportunity to take control and ownership of their learning by finding a work space in the classroom that suits their individual needs. Flexible seating gives our students a chance to stay actively engaged and focused in their learning throughout the day. Our students will learn best when they are comfortable in their work area. Overall, flexible seating boosts student motivation and engagement which will help us reach even higher goals in our classroom! This will help create a more accessible classroom for students and create high interest learning areas for students to collaborate and individually work.
