With multiple flexible seating options, my students will be able to work out their wiggles while also completing academic tasks. The seating options being requested are light and easily moved from table to desk and also allow students to collaborate in small groups. While collaborating with their peers and working together on academic tasks, students will be able to build motor skills through balancing and coordination that many young students are still developing. Flexible seating allows students to engage in learning in an exciting way that will create an environment where soft skills are developed and practiced in a fun way! In literature circles and book chats, students will be able to gather their stability balls to relocate into groups throughout the classroom. At my guided reading, writing, and math table students will be able to use bouncy bands at the foot of their seats to help with the wiggles that come about from intense instruction.
