My students come in daily with a burning desire to learn and apply science in their everyday lives! I want to integrate my lesson science lessons with technology, and not stiffle my students creativity when doing projects. We are a Title 1 school and not all of my students have cell phones to do research for our porjects. 4 Samsung Chromebooks will help engage my high learners, and help grow my large SPED and ELL population. Chromebooks will give me the opportunity to pre-teach my lower learners with small groups, and differntiate for my higher learners, where their learning can be more student driven. We recently did an "adopt and element" research project, where students picked one element, researched it, and created an ad with the information learned. I was amazed out how many of them came out! One in particular was an animation that they personally drew and did voice overs! When we presented, many students stated they could do something similar, but didn't have the resources at home to do it. I didn't want them to think that because they didn't use technology, their project wasn't good enough. This very scenario has led me here. I don't want to put my students in a box, instead I want them to be able to learn using as many types of resources as possible and create habits of good research, before they get to highschool. Please help me invest in my students creativity, and enhance ALL student learning.
