The use of the Chromebooks in my classroom will enable students to practice and enhance skills taught in the classroom on a daily basis. With a classroom of 20 and only one teacher, the Chromebooks will allow students to receive more one-on-one time instruction through tutorial based programs during center time. Students will be able to practice fluency with math facts and oral reading fluency. Students will also be able to work on previous non-mastered Kindergarten skills - counting, recognizing numbers, colors, sight words, identifying the letters and sounds of the alphabet. I will be able to monitor student success on each skill and areas of focus where students may need more one-on-one time with me, the teacher. Practice makes perfect and the Chromebooks will allow the extra practice time needed for my students to learn, perfect, and master not only the skills being taught, but also skills that were not mastered in the previous grade.
