  • Supplies for Our Second-Grade Classroom!

    Funded Oct 14, 2022

I want to sincerely thank you for supporting my "Supplies for Our Second-Grade Classroom!" and getting it fully funded! The headphones were a lifesaver as every student was able to complete assignments and assessments on their computers without distractions. We were also able to use these composition books and pencils for many subjects and to improve their writing and journaling skills. These supplies could not have arrived at a better time as most of my students do not have what they need for success in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Demorizi

  • Swiveling Into Learning With Our Noise-Reduction Headphones!

    Funded Aug 27, 2021

Thank you so much for fully funding my "Swiveling Into Learning With Our Noise-Reduction Headphones!" project request! Because of your support and generosity, every child has an assigned headphone in our classroom. Sanitizing headphones has been cut down to twice per day, a big difference from before. The students feel safer and take great care of their headphones. Thank you for reaching out and making such a huge impact, not to mention, helping my students stay safe. Having enough headphones to accommodate each student has always been a challenge, until now. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Demorizi

  • Third-Graders Are Getting Financially Literate! Oh My!

    Funded Oct 8, 2021

Thank you so much for choosing my classroom and fully funding my "Third-Graders Are Getting Financially Literate! Oh My!" project request! I am so excited to start teaching my third-grade students about finances, using real-life scenarios with actual goals! My students will learn math, apart from language arts, and social studies, while having fun and learning how to budget and reach their goals. These life lessons they will not soon forget.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Demorizi

  • Learning to Write and Comprehend the First Grade Way!

    Funded Nov 16, 2018

I just want to sincerely thank you for fully funding my "Learning to Write and Comprehend the First Grade Way!" project. The writing materials, books and stationery will go a very long way as they will set the much-needed foundation my students need when it comes to building their tactile, motor and writing skills. We are so humbled to be chosen.”

  • First Graders Learning Math Through Chrome!

    Funded Dec 20, 2017

Thank you so much for funding our "First Graders Learning Math Through Chrome!" request. My first graders were so excited when they saw the new addition to our classroom. We can now have multiple technology centers simultaneously instead of only one at a time, and my students no longer have to pair up when going online.

You have given us a jump-start to becoming a STEAM first-grade classroom and this would not have been remotely possible without your generosity and great kindness.

We will never forget what you have done for our classroom and for our school.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Demorizi

  • Manipulative Math Tigers!

    Funded Dec 20, 2017

I really appreciate your support of our "Manipulative Math Tigers!" request. As we are embarking towards being a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics school, we are eager to embrace this exciting approach-from as early as first grade.

It will be amazing to see the children working "hands-on" with projects that involve problem-solving, using interactive and real-life math manipulatives. All of this would not have been possible without your generosity.

Their favorite manipulative learning center is, of course, counting their "own" money. Soon, we will have an imaginary market where they will "buy" and "sell" goods. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Demorizi

I teach first-grade math, social studies, and science at a Head Start through 5th-grade school in North Miami. Most of my students are high-poverty and have limited technology at home. After Hurricane Irma, the financial situation for most of our students became even worse and they are still facing the challenges of coming to school with basic supplies. For most of our students, Internet access and the use of computers are a luxury they do not have at home. As we are embarking to be designated officially a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) school, technology has now infiltrated every aspect of how our classes are taught. After Hurricane Irma struck, most students came back with fewer supplies and less access to the tools they need to be successful. Even with limited resources, using technology in my classroom has proved to be quite a success as the students learn quickly, discover and enjoy every lesson while developing scientific exploration, analytical and critical math skills. I am requesting five HP Chromebook computers which will be used for STEAM activities. My students now need to experience actually utilizing technology on a personal "one on one" basis, to enhance their language skills as well as computer skills. Currently, my classroom is very limited in terms of technology/computers. In fact, there is only a teacher's workstation and four outdated computers in my classroom. We are aiming to become a STEAM school in the upcoming school year and having our students get direct access to technology will prepare them.
