Currently, our classroom does not have a great classroom library. The books are outdated, ripped, torn and falling apart. There are not many books for my students to choose from. They are not motivated to read as a result of this. It makes me upset to see their faces as they look through our tiny library and feel discouraged because they cannot find a book on their level, or something that peaks their interest. The books that I'm requesting are on various reading levels, and different topics and genres. I choose these books according to what I know they would be interested in reading, and keep them motivated. My goal is to prepare my student for their futures. I emphasize to them how important it is to get a good education and to try their best. These kids do not have it easy by any means. If getting them a more sufficient library will help them succeed and bring a smile to their faces, then I will try my best to achieve this goal.
