  • iLearn Best With iPads

    Funded Apr 17, 2019

Thank you so much for your contribution! The iPads have been helping my students learn through its various apps and online resources. YouTube channels such as Super Simple Songs and Choo Choo TV provide for positive reinforcers that allow my students to focus for longer periods of time. This project is so exciting because staff members can see how motivated students are when learning through technology. The students' smiles are so big, and they look forward to using them throughout the day. We are also seeing an increase in students engagement with the iPads. Students who never expressed an interest are now showing that they enjoy using the iPads and all of its benefits. Thank you again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rebecca

  • Bouncing Up Calms Us Down!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your donation- my students love their new bounce house! Not only has it assisted it gross motor development, but also in socialization as they bounce around and have fun with their friends. When they first saw the bounce house they were really excited and eager to play on it. They have never seen anything like this at our school! In the future, we would love to have more funded projects like this that help our students develop and set them up for future success. Without you, none of this would be possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rebecca

Since my students have difficulty self- regulating and interacting with peers, a bounce house would provide a space for students to receive sensory input while developing social interactions. Additionally, the use of a bounce house could facilitate language due to the opportunity for turn taking. Jumping in a bounce house will improve my students' use of their large muscles (ie. legs and core muscles) which will aid in their ability to independently navigate school and community environments. In addition, the improved core strength will aid in speech production as abdominal muscles are an integral muscle group in one's ability to produce words.
