Chromebooks would be a great addition to my classroom. 21st century skills are becoming more and more important. By having access to more technology, it would open the door for more opportunities for students to create and explore, will gaining skills that will enhance their lives as they continue to grow. These would be used multiple times daily by my students. The Chromebooks would be used during our literacy and math block to provide more students a chance to get on the school literacy program, work on interactive task cards, and develop projects using the Google Platform. We have a very limited number of students who are able to get a sufficient amount of time each day due to lack of resources. With the Chromebooks, more students would be able to use them in literacy centers to practice phonemic awareness, word building, and fluency. They would also be able to use interactive math tools to help them problem solve and use their imaginations to develop and execute projects that require deeper thinking. Students would be able to work on skills using a variety websites that engage and excite students about learning. These tools will provide me with a way to differentiate instruction and cater to the needs of each individual student. These Chromebooks will engage them in a way that is fun and exciting. It will allow students with different learning styles to receive differentiated instruction and practice to help concepts get through to them. It will also provide my students who don't have many, if any opportunities to use technology, a chance to get it in their hands.
