My students frequently come to school hungry. I understand the importance of not only having breakfast and snacks during the day but having healthy options for my students. No student should have to go through their day hungry. These snacks will ensure that my students have a place to go to get food when it is not available at home. They know the nurse's clinic is a safe place where they can go for help so having these options available will make it easy for them to fuel up to learn. Whole grain and protein filled snacks will ensure these children will be able to sit and learn without blood sugar spikes and will be able to give 100% until it's time for their next meal. Bottles of water will allow children to drink water throughout the day to stay adequately hydrated rather than getting a quick sip of water at the water fountain.
