I am asking for help to implement flexible seating in my business classroom. My classroom is a computer lab and is currently set up for my Computer Applications classes. But when it comes to teaching other classes such as entrepreneurship, business essentials, and video production, I would love to have a wide variety of seating options. I want my students to be able to choose a seat that will maximize their learning. It is important for my students to feel safe and comfortable in my classroom. When teaching new material, I ask my students to sit in the center of the classroom, away from their desktop computers. As of right now, their only option is to bring a plastic chair to the center of the classroom or sit on the floor. I am asking for 10 large bean bags, so that my students can have more comfortable seating options when learning new material. Having bean bags will also provide students with the opportunity to sit anywhere in the classroom when working on independent and group projects. There is not a lot that I can do when it comes to rearranging my classroom due to it being a computer lab, but what I can do is add fun, comfortable seating choices other than a plastic chair.
