  • The Vocabulary Upgrade

    You can't imagine how excited my drama students will be when I tell them that 'Vocabulary Upgrade' has been funded! In early September, I told them that I had submitted the proposal. They have been asking about it every day! We will begin our improvisation activities using our new vocabulary words.

  • Classical Theatre Field Trip

    My students will be ecstatic to find out their trip is funded! They can't wait to see ROMEO AND JULIET, and for many, it is their first exposure to live theatre!

    Nothing could be better for performing arts students than to see actors on a stage.

    The students will also have a chance to meet with the actors, take a backstage tour and mix with adult audience members, on a Friday night.

I teach in a high-need community with students hungry for higher education in the arts. The high school where I teach is a public performing arts school. My students study drama every day for four years. Many students dream of going on to an arts college or university. Because they have limited resources due to their family's income and the budgetary restraints of the school, my students and I have difficulty competing for opportunities and resources, fully accessible to students in schools with an adequate financial profile.

About my class
