For a variety of reasons, many of my students have never had the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike. For some, regular bicycles can be extremely intimidating and often dangerous if not used properly. A lot of fear and anxiety related to bicycles often stems from the lack of confidence in their balance. A balance bike can be an amazing learning tool in helping students overcome their fear of falling by teaching them how to balance and steer without the complexity of pedaling. They can place their feet solidly on the ground at any time and progress at their own pace. Ultimately, this gives them the confidence and necessary skills to eventually transition to a bicycle with pedals. Our school mission is teaching students to be successful in school and in life. I am confident these balance bikes will bring my students joy, raise their self esteem and hopefully encourage them to want to continue riding for years to come. Thank you for your consideration, support and generosity. It is greatly appreciated!
