The color printer will be used to create color pec boards. Daily visual schedules for students will be created that students can interact with, and refer to. These visuals also help when changes in schedules need to be made. Adaptive books will also be made using the color printer. This will provide students with greater access to story and informational books and provide ways for non-verbal students to show their understanding.Students will use Kindles to listen to audiobooks, access apps that help develop phonemic awareness and fine motor skills. Technology and visuals are key to assisting in the development of both academic and behavioral skills in my classroom. Other items including fidget toys, chair bands, and seat cushions aid in providing sensory input students need in order to be attentive and present to learn. Each student is unique in the classroom, and we are constantly updating visual material and creating new individualized curriculum to ensure students can reach their potential. Providing visuals in color is not only visually appealing, it engages the students, and it helps them make connections to the World they live in.
