I teach at a Title I school where many students come from low income homes. There are 27 students in my first grade class this year. All are eager to learn and nothing is quite as exciting to them as being able to use technology. We currently have six student computers in the classroom. The computers are used to practice math facts and reading skills. Due to the large number of students and the small number of computers, students have to alternate days in which they get a turn on a computer. Increasing the number of computers in the classroom will increase opportunities for student use and boost excitement about learning.
