  • A Fresh Start

    Funded Feb 27, 2008

My classes and I are so excited to get funded for this proposal!!! The items we will be getting will enable us to do so many different projects this year and for many years to come. We will be able to do projects outside which my students truly have enjoyed in the past. I just want you to know that you have made learning Algebra and Geometry a lot of fun for all my classes. I am very grateful for someone like you to care about us in such a generous way.

Thank you from all of us,

  • Starting All Over

    Funded Dec 20, 2007

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your most generous donation to my classroom. My students will love this new addition of a computer for extra activities! I have recently purchased 2 math computer software programs which will be put to great use on our new computer. Now my my exceptional students will get to do enhancement projects and my struggling students will receive extra computerized tutorial practice. Your donation could not have come at a better time since we will be preparing for the state standardized testing in February.

    A sincere Thank You,

  • Real Math

    Funded Dec 12, 2007

I would like to express my greatest appreciation for your generosity. The materials from this proposal will be used repeatedly throughout the rest of this year and for many years to come. My students will be able to simulate real life financial situations and have fun while learning. I cannot wait to get the materials in and get started. I look forward to updating you with the benefits these activities will bring to our class.

  • LETS GO FLY A KITE!!!

    Funded Dec 16, 2006

Our Geometry class is so excited to have the opportunity to do this Kite Building Project. I know the best way to spark a student's interest is with hands on experiences and this project is exactly that. When I told the students we were funded for this project there was a big cheer from the class. There will be many educational topics covered while learning to build the kites. I am looking forward to engaging their minds and creativity, and they are going to have lots of fun”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. K.

  • Competitive Learning

    Funded Dec 14, 2006

We are so excited to be getting the Wireless Classroom Challenger package. The students are looking forward to having this new technology in our school. It will be a big change from how we are able to review for tests and able to compete in Quiz Bowl challenges. We will be able to use it in all age groups for many applications. Therefore, from all of the teachers at Johnson Bayou High School, "We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being so generous."

  • BRIDGES TO LEARNING

    Funded Dec 4, 2006

I would like to express a very gracious "Thank You" for caring about our small group of children here in Johnson Bayou, LA. When I informed my classes that we would be getting the materials to do the bridge building project, they were excited. I have told them of all the concepts the project would involve (engineering, data analysis, architecture, and problem solving) and they can't wait to get started. I believe, the more we can show high school children about the real world while they are still in school, the better informed they will be to make decisions about their future. This is my first project to get funded and I am just as excited to as the children. Again, "Thank You" for giving us the opportunity to learn and enjoy this project that we will be able to use for many years to come.

    Sincerely,

    Shaun K
