  • Dictionaries for Success in Reading!

    Thank you so very much for the dictionaries! Up until now, the students have had to share dictionaries or work with dictionaries that are mixed and matched, making the lessons more difficult to do.

    Now, each child can work independently on their English/Reading/Writing assignments or can look at the same information during group lessons/tutoring (less confusion that way). Also, in my tutoring groups with my ELL students, we can devote more time to word studies (multi-meaning words, homophones, synonyms, antonyms, etc.) that will improve their language skills.

    Thank you again. When I told my students about the donation, they were very excited and can't wait to use them.

  • Time for Kids -5th Grade

    Thank you so much for funding this project for my class! I have seen student magazines such as this throughout my school and the success those teachers have had with them. I have wanted to incorporate this resource in my class for a while now but have lacked the funds. My students were excited when I told them about the magazines. This will really help with both my whole-class instruction as well as my small group instruction. Thank you again for your assistance.

Improving reading, writing, and grammar skills through dictionaries! I teach 5th grade, self-contained (meaning, I teach all subjects), at a Title I school (most kids are on free/reduced lunches). My past and current classes includes many ESL students, as well as students who still struggle with reading on their appropriate grade level.
