  • School Supplies for 3rd Grade Success!

    Funded Aug 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. We are very thankful that during these unprecedented times we have lots of school supplies to help us stay organized. Since we are all working remotely, organization is more important now than ever, and the multi-colored folders with bright labels have helped us keep all our work neat and safe. Also, the pencil cases are really great and we are able to come to all of our meetings with pencils, pens, highlighters and coloring materials.

Thank you again for helping us become organized, successful third graders. These generous donations will help many future classes as well and for that I am very thankful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Midlige

  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

    Funded Jul 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping us improve our classroom library and art skills this year. My students have enjoyed learning about many new titles during independent reading and have really expanded their horizons when it comes to the books they are choosing to read on their own.

Independent reading is such an important part of third grade and I encourage my students to read every day during and after school. Having high quality books that are interesting to each child has made this task so much easier and for that I thank you!

Many of these books are also available online as well so even when our students are not in the school building, they have been able to pick up where they left off and continue reading at home.

The crayons have allowed us to enhance our artistic abilities this year and add lots of color to our work. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and thank you for helping make this a great start to third grade!”

  • Cozy Classroom Carpet for Learning

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

We were so excited to receive our new colorful classroom rug! My students started the year with an old blue rug that was too small to fit our class and were filled with joy when they walked into our room one morning to see the beautiful pastel colors with a spot for each and every student!

Having room for every kid on our rug has made our classroom community so much stronger. It has also given students a sense of pride during community meetings and read aloud lessons because every student is seen and heard as a member of our class. We have read many wonderful stories, learned many new math concepts and have written some great stories all on our rug. In addition, my students love reading their independent reading books on the rug and enjoy spreading out and getting comfortable whenever given the chance for flexible seating!

Thank you for allowing my students to continue learning in a bright, modern classroom that is welcoming and allows every student to feel included. I am so excited for the rest of this year and for future classes of students to enjoy this special gift.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Midlige

  • Coding in Comfort!

    Funded Nov 29, 2018

We were so excited to receive our new seat cushions and books for our classroom library. The seat cushions have become an instant hit and are a great way to motivate my students to be their best selves each and every day. Our table of the week has enjoyed getting these cushions as a prize and it has really made our learning more comfortable!

Our classroom library is a place that gets heavy use from students and our class enjoys taking daily visits to change out their independent reading books. The new books about Computer Science have taught my students a great deal about a new subject that they are learning this year. They have really enjoyed reading more about coding and have even generated new ideas for projects they can create in Scratch. In addition, our class favorite Fly Guy books have become extremely popular and are almost always checked out of our library. Students enjoy reading these books during independent reading time and are even more excited that they can read in a more comfortable setting.

Lastly, thank you so much for helping me expand our Read Aloud library. I have really enjoyed getting to share stories like Mae Among the Stars with students in honor of Black History Month and Women's History Month. Getting to expose my students to Computer Scientists and Mathematicians has made our learning even more rewarding.”

  • Kindle a Fire for Reading!

    Funded Dec 21, 2017

Our Kindle Fire Tablets have arrived and we are so thankful for your generous support! We have enjoyed getting to use this new technology in our class and are becoming amazing readers, mathematicians and researchers!

My students have really enjoyed having the opportunity to use this technology in our classroom! We have been hard at work using reading programs to improve our phonics skills and reading fluency. We have also been using our tablets to practice our math facts and really enjoy adding math games into our math routines to make our learning more fun.

My students were so excited to receive these devices and were amazed by the generosity of people! Many of my students don't have access to these kinds of resources at home and the ability to use this kind of technology in our classroom is allowing them to become more computer literate and improve their technological skills!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to enrich my students lives! We are so grateful for all your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Midlige

  • Chromebooks For 21st Century Learning

    Funded Dec 10, 2017

Our computers have arrived and we could not be more grateful the generous gift you have provided us in our classroom. These computers have opened my students' eyes to the wonders of technology and have really helped us bring our learning into the 21st century. We have been using the computers in many ways. For example, my students have become math wizards because of their ability to practice their math skills on the computer using educational websites. We even took part in the IXL Math challenge happening at our school! In addition, we have become master reading detectives thanks to the educational apps our school has which we can now use in the classroom. As we finish our current writing unit, we look forward to taking turns using the computers to publish our written work like real authors!

Having this technology in our class is so exciting to my students. Not everyone in my class has technology that is accessible to them at home, so having the ability to experience technology on a regular basis is extremely new for some of our class. We are learning skills on our computers that we never knew before and are becoming more and more computer literate each day.

Our class is full of amazing students who are eager to learn each day. We are so lucky that having these computers in our classroom is helping us grow each and everyday. In particular, my English Language Learning students are benefiting tremendously from this technology because they are able to use scientific based programs that help them with learning English. The benefit of having these programs accessible in our classroom helps my students stay involved in classroom learning and not miss out on valuable classroom time by having to leave our community.

Once again, we are so grateful for the generous donation that you have provided us! We can't wait to learn and grow even more this year as we prepare for fourth grade!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Midlige

My students are eager to learn and love coming to school each and every day! Your support will help my 30 amazing third graders take their learning to the next level!
