Each of these materials will help create a classroom environment that is conducive to both learning and safety. Our students will be required to wear cloth masks, social distance at 6 feet apart, and on top of that--they will not be allowed to share any materials. The masks will be provided to students who cannot afford their own personal cloth masks. This will help curb the spread of aerosols in a classroom full of Kindergarten students. The disinfectant spray will be used to clean desks, chairs, and materials in between usage. Although custodial staff may be provided with these materials, teachers will be largely responsible for disinfecting personal supplies at the beginning, end, and throughout each day to keep students safe. The tape will be utilized to create markers between students to ensure 6 feet of social distancing. Five and six-year-olds are not familiar yet with measurement and this tape will ensure that students follow appropriate guidelines. It will help provide students with the opportunity to move around the classroom while still staying safe. The tote bags will be used to store student workbooks, whiteboards, and curriculum materials without having to stack them in cubbies where the germs will likely mingle and transfer among the different objects. These bags will also provide students with easy, clean access to their own personal learning materials without having to shuffle through piles of other student work. The overall goal is to keep students safe during our time in the classroom while allowing them to utilize curriculum materials and classroom supplies.
