  • Treasure Chest for A Curious Mind!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much for funding "Treasure Chest for a Curious Mind". This project has helped my students house books, dictionarys and other resources in our classroom. My students were super excited when we had the package delivered to our room and they were even more excited as they watch the chest come to life. This chest has made our classroom more organized which is crucial with a classroom of young scholars. When we are organized, we are more focused and the class has more structure. We cannot wait to add more items to the chest.”

  • Children Lives Matter!

    Funded Jan 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your very generous donation, allowing us to have a variety of Cultural books for our different races of students at our school. We were able to use these books during important events like Black History Month and Mexican Heritage Month. By providing children with accurate and positive representations of the many cultural groups that make up the community, society and the world in which they live, books can help children learn to identify stereotypes and biases when they encounter them.”

  • Printer for Special Education!

    Funded Sep 10, 2020

Thank you so much for your very generous donation! We are very grateful for your support and because of your generosity this has allowed us to accomplish so many things that has been a hindrance and could have continued to hold our students back. As I mentioned before, this colored printer will help aid my students who have Learning Disabilities retain information that they have read, challenge their thinking by prompting them to engage in discussions, and will be able to better comprehend new information when delivered through a color format. Because of you, we are one step closer to success!”

  • Maintain Confidentiality!

    Funded Nov 3, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation to our project. Confidentiality is very important in Special Education and it makes everyone feel confident that information is protected.

Case management is 50% of being a Special Education Teacher and there is tons of paperwork involved in the process. Being able to shred student records have made this process easier and effective. My students thought the "machine" was so cool.

We will continue to protect our students and their information by being diligent and going the extra mile to make sure they are protected.”

  • COVID-FREE Classroom

    Funded Oct 16, 2020

Thank you so much for providing us with cleaning resources to keep our classroom sanitized and disinfected during this pandemic. As a stressful as things are, we feel much better knowing that we are taking precautionary steps to stay safe.

My students were so grateful to come into a clean classroom and they each even had their own personal sanitizer.

Our next steps are to remain safe, be diligent as possible, and continue to work hard as we go through uncharted waters. We feel better knowing that there are donors in the world like you, who are kind and gracious enough to support us.”

  • Frothy Treat!

    Funded Mar 20, 2020

Thank you again for the generous donation to our Keurig coffee/tea/hot cocoa machine! Our children and I are so excited to try the machine when the weather gets a little cooler to enjoy it. We have already purchased the hot cocoa and marshmallows and cannot wait to have some fun with this treat. This tasty reward system is a great idea to encourage positive behavior in children, and even encourages them to work hard. Rewards systems have been proven to be effective and this small incentive creates great class management which leads to students inspired to learn!”

    Ms. Coppage

  • College Ready Kids!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Having the dictionaries donated to our scholars have helped them increase their literacy and vocabulary. It has helped our students understand how a word should be used and how to properly spell that word. My students communication has improved as well and has been a guide for my English Language Learners and has enhanced their English as well. This source has helped my students search meaning of any word and has even helped with their self-esteem because they are confident when they speak and write. We are so grateful for our dictionaries.”

  • Classroom Supplies!

    Funded Dec 9, 2019

The classroom supplies that were donated to our classroom have come in hand! Our classroom needed pens and pencils for our assignments and now we have enough so that everyone can use them. The notepads also were very useful because we could use these sticky notes to brainstorm, collaborate, display and visualize all of our ideas with each other. This also allowed us to organize and prepare for upcoming projects. The mechanical pencils made it easier for the students to grip which made for good writing prompts! Thank you again for your kind donation.”

  • Flu-Free Classroom

    Funded Nov 15, 2019

My students and I are forever so grateful for the donations funded to purchase dictionaries for our classroom. Our campus practices college ready skills, to ensure that our students have a bright, knowledgeable future. Studies show that a child with a rich vocabulary can express what he or she needs in an effective manner, which leads to a better chance of success in life. When our delivery arrived, we were all so excited to have our own dictionaries and to learn new words. We have learned over 50 new words since we received our package. We have set a new goal to learn 50 more words before summer break.”

  • Germ-Free Classroom!

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

My students and I are so grateful for all of the cleaning supplies that you provided us with! We have been cleaning our room and keeping it germ free for a nice learning environment. We were able to wipe down desk, spray our rooms down with Lysol and sanitize our hands.

When we first opened our box, my students were so excited like they were opening more Christmas presents. They couldn't believe that there were people out there who didn't know them, yet were still concerned.

We plan on using these same items for our annual spring cleaning coming up!”

Due to the disabilities of my students, I feel that they can benefit from having a mini fridge and microwave in the classroom. Since I work at a Title One school where children come from low-income families, we provide free healthy school meals. A refrigerator will allow me to house fruits/milk that they provide to the students and to keep it healthy by refrigerating it. I often throw away leftover fruit/milk that can be saved for a student coming into class late. These items will allow my students to always have a healthy option available and not have to go without breakfast/lunch. This also will be a benefit for my students with a Behavior Disability like Emotional Disturbance. This will allow me to spend lunchtime in the classroom with my students. Eating together builds a great rapport and trust. Building rapport is a key cornerstone of effective classroom management. Genuine, behavior-influencing rapport is created organically. It comes to you, by student choice, through your warm and friendly personality. Eating lunch with students can speed up this process because it embeds you in their territory, frames you in a new and different light, and draws students into your realm of influence. It proves that every day is a new day and connects the less connected. Its all about relationships and building a rapport with your students by eating lunch with them is where it starts.
