Homebound Student Supports
Funded Sep 24, 2023On behalf of each and every student and family who has had the opportunity to utilize one or more of the specialized materials that you donated, thank you. Your support has impacted the learning environment, fostering engagement among both children and adults. The inclusion of educational games has transformed the educational landscape, making learning an enjoyable experience for students of all ages and ability levels. The academic games, in particular, have not only enhanced cognitive skills but also instilled a sense of curiosity and excitement for learning.
The differentiated reading materials have allowed me to cater to diverse learning needs, ensuring that every individual receives an education tailored to their unique abilities. The technology contributions (printer & paper) has allowed me to facilitate quick access to new materials, and has supported our teaching methods and kept our educational approach specialized for each student. Your commitment to enhancing the learning experience will leave a lasting impact on the academic, medical, and social/emotional journeys of countless students and contribute to building a brighter future. Once again, thank you for your support and belief in the power of education.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Wrege
This classroom project was brought to life by Gov. Jared Polis & the Colorado Dept. of Education.Outdoor Education Excursion
Funded Dec 23, 2017We are heading out this morning for our two night camping trip. We spend last week Friday team-building with our kids. We were very strategic in developing the groups our kids are in and we pulled them out of their friend groups. They were hesitant and even a little resistant at first, but by the end of the day they had ALREADY started forming new relationships! This is one of my goals as an educator...helping my kids develop skills that will allow them to become inclusive, outgoing, passionate humans. This will be the first time many of our students will be making a trip outside of Thornton!
As we were discussing hopes, expectations, and worries about the trip, many of them noted that they were nervous to be without their phones for almost three days. This, however, was followed by awesome conversations about the desire to at least give it a try. They are ready to try unplugging and being a part of the world around them, which is VERY, VERY exciting. We can't wait to see the full opportunities and changes this trip will bring about for our students.
Your donations have truly opened up doors for our kids and we are beyond grateful for your generosity. We are looking forward to sharing our pictures with you when we return! Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Wrege
