• Refresh our Needs!

  We thank you so much for your gracious donations! The beginning of the school year is always a journey, but the halfway mark in the middle is also the start of something new as well. The color paper helped to make sure our worksheets were easily identifiable to match our school subject folders. The dry erase erasers and markers made our daily poll of the day and question of "who is a kind classmate that has an extra dry erase marker to use?" to rest. Again, thank you for the midyear help - it sure did help us finish the year strong!”

• As Easy as 1, 2, 3..and Then Some

  Our math journals have been making such a difference in our classrooms! Upon arrivals, my grade level team was ecstatic to receive reading and math journals to supplement our lessons and review with our upcoming SOL (standards of learning) state testing. Once we cracked them open, the kids couldn't stop looking through them! They love the various skills and different strategies it shows to support their learning. Surprisingly enough, students work through the whole page even when we just focus on one day or the week.”

• Reading is Forever!

  Thank you so much for your gracious contribution! Reading is such an important skill and upon their arrival into 3rd grade, reading comprehension begins to take the reigns. These comprehension books have allowed my team to identify student knowledge and misconceptions immediately upon checking on their work (even better there's an answer key to go with!). Our students have loved reading new stories and sharing with those around them with the new stories each and every week. The question variety definitely keeps them on their toes.”

• A Book For You, And A Book For You

  Thank you so much for your gracious donation! Reading hard/soft cover, in hand books is one of the top priorities in my classroom because nothing beats it! No matter how much technology, reading a book for yourself and creating the voices makes a world of differences. I love when my students request books after reading the being of a series and thanks to you and donorschoose, I am able to supply their demands! • Indoor? Say No More! Pt2

  Thank you immensely for our donations towards our indoor recess games and other items. With the beautiful field we have, indoor recess is not w classroom favorite so I had to think quick on how to change those frowns upside down! I think what was most surprising is that they didn't prefer their computers during indoor recess! I chose many games from my childhood to introduce to my students. They enjoyed the brain puzzles and learning new card games like slap Jack and crazy eights. It was great being able to connect with them on another level.”

• Great Eyes for Supplies

  It is always the little things and we cannot thank you enough! Printer paper is always scarce in school buildings so colored printer paper is truly a rare commodity. Though colored printer paper is our favorite because it provides contrast in our interactive notebooks and definitely lightens the mood of my students! Our coloring utensils arrived just in time to help us start out on the right foot for second semester starting in January. Everything is a part of helping our classroom flow smoothly and giving students basic supplies that they more than deserve to have.”

• FLEXin' in the Classroom

  Thank you so much for your contribution! My students have truly loved the comfort made available to them throughout the school day and I have loved how plentiful our flexible seating has been that now no one has a need to complain! I call that a win win in more ways than one. My students use the cushions for their backs and bottoms while working hard and staying focused. Our dry erase boards and erasers have also been replenished -- our goal was to keep our 2 markers that we had left until Thanksgiving without drying out -- and this project saved us just in time!”
