Our nation is facing two catastrophic pandemics - COVID 19 and Racial injustice/violence. These realities are challenging for us all, especially our students who may have questions and concerns about what all this means. Social emotional learning and diversity education are more necessary now then ever. These books will help start conversations, normalize feelings, teach coping skills and guide us through these challenging times. To start the year these will be morning meeting read-aloud books. Eventually they will make their way into our classroom library where students can explore them independently and even have the opportunity to take them home.
