As you can see from our slide show our class was able to expand our way of teaching by incorporating both an artistic and scientific approach to projects so we were able to expand our normal way of learning by teaching important skills and concepts in a variety of ways. The children loved utilizing different mediums. It gave them confidence to try different things and enjoy the experience. • Crafting After Covid

    Funded Nov 21, 2021

I am so grateful everyday for your generosity and the impact that all of the products have had on my students. Having very little exposure to "hands on" classroom interaction during Covid has greatly affected my students ability. All the new sensory toys and crafting materials have made such a difference in my students learning experience in our classroom. It has also impacted their fine motor skills and creativity. We are having such a great time exploring and crafting every day.

    Thank you again”

    With gratitude,

  • Ready!Set!Go! to Kindergarten!

    Funded Oct 5, 2018

Since we received our supplies from Donors Choose the students from "Ready Set Go Kindergarten " have created and grown in numerous ways. We are getting very good at sitting, following directions, developing our large and fine motor skills while doing creative projects in individual or group setting. Each week we practice a letter of the alphabet and create an art project representing that letter. At the end of the year I put together a book for the students work of all the letters of the alphabet so their parents can see their accomplishments.

Many of the students have never held a paintbrush before or worked with a paints. We started practicing with the watercolors we received. This allows the students to explore something new, be creative and reinforce their occupational and physical therapy services. The classroom supplies have allowed me to create differentiated activities that allow the students to practice writing, cutting, gluing, pasting, coloring and following directions. The compassion and generosity that our donors have shown to the children from "Ready Set Go Kindergarten" is priceless. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.”

  • Help Us Get Our Words Out

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Since we received our supplies from Donors Choose the boys from "Get the word out" are learning how to communicate what they know, what they want and what they need through educational programs and games that we have on our new Ipad that address their individual goals. We are getting very good at sitting and doing group work when we practice our alphabet and numbers on our brand new easel. The classroom supplies have allowed me to create differentiated activities that allow the boys to be creative while cutting, gluing, pasting, coloring and following directions. This allows the boys to be creative as well as reinforce both their occupational and physical therapy exercises. The kindness and generosity that our donors have shown to the children from "Get the word out" is priceless. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The First Million Fund and 9 other donors.
If my project is fully funded I would have the sensory tools to help my students to stay focused, remain calm, and increase their ability to learn. The iPad would be my only communication device that I have to use in the classroom. This would be instrumental with four nonverbal and two partially verbal students. One of the biggest hurdles my students face is the frustration of not being able to communicate. The iPad will allow me to have a clearer understanding of what they are trying to tell me and also what they have or haven't comprehended. The remaining classroom products, such as a portable easel, construction paper, and fidget toys, would help me to develop different projects that are both educational and support cognitive and sensory development. Add the word Liftoff to your donation and it will be matched up $50.00
