Professional Development to Inspire Students
Funded Dec 5, 2017Thank you so much for this great learning opportunity. I was able to meet and talk with authors and experienced professionals that gave great advice for new teachers like myself. As a new teacher there are always so many things you want to learn and then implement in the classroom, but this training allowed me to find what would work best for my students and not get overwhelmed by all the extras.
This training is set up where you are able to pick what is going to benefit each teacher the best and then it encourages you to attend multiple trainings, even if that means leaving early from one to attend another. I was able to take notes and ask questions as well as go buy their books immediately after. I was introduced to helpful websites that are designed to help motivate students to learn. The speakers also were very mindful of all kinds of students so as a Special Education teacher I could still use the material.
It was also great to meet new people as well and talk about their teaching experiences. We live in a small community, away from other schools in our district so being able to meet them here was wonderful. Our school is low on funding so trainings that require time off and overnight stays are not something I would have been able to do without the help of Donors Choose! I will be forever grateful and my students will continue to learn in new ways that were taught to me at this training. I will hope that I can continue to go again so I can come back to the classroom refreshed and motivated to inspire my students. Thank you for all of your support in allowing me this opportunity for learning!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Parker
