Students today are hands on learners. As teachers we need to adapt to our students. Teaching math is important and these are fundamental skills my students will take with them for the rest of their lives. Manipulatives will help my students grasp content in different ways, it also helps keep my students engaged. Math can be boring, so let's spice it up with some manipulatives! Engaged and happy learners are better learners, I try to teach to what my students are interested in so they will want to learn the information. I have seen what manipulatives like dice, tiles, and spinners can do for my students, it allows them to understand the content in a different way. Not all learners are the same and we should try to deliver math in multiple ways. With these manipulatives I know I can better teach my students. These items will allow my diverse learners to get their hands on math. With your help, we can make math a fun and memorable experience for my students.
