  • iPads Please!

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you for donating to our classroom! We received an iPad and an Osmo game. In todays world technology is becoming more and more important for students to learn. Being able to add another piece of technology helps tremendously. We use the iPad during learning center rotations. The students are able to work on skills they need extra help with in a fun and interactive way. They don't even realize they are learning most of the time!

The Osmo is extremely fun and every student cannot wait for their turn to use it each week. It is an interactive game that helps students with words and numbers. The students are able to work on skills they need while I am able to work one on one with other students. We are very grateful that we are able to have this new technology and be able to learn in new and exciting ways.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Archer

  • Wiggle While We Work!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The impact on my students for the new year with flexible seating has been amazing! They are doing so well with it! I have seen an improvement in focus while they are working and not to mention they love coming to school every day to be able to sit in these seats! That was the goal of this seating, to improve focus and to help build a love for school, and I can say because they can wiggle while they work the goals have been met! Without you this would not have happened and I thank you so much for your donations! This has changed my classroom and my students!”

  • White Boards Are the Right Boards!

    Funded Nov 27, 2017

Thank you so much for your donations to White Boards are the Right Boards! We use the whiteboards on a weekly basis, sometimes even twice a week! We use them to practice spelling words, during daily five, and to work on writing complete sentences.

My students were most excited when the large easel was put together, they love getting to show off their phonics skills on it, and refer to it often for help with phonics. My students also jumped up and down the day they received the whiteboards, they were excited for new, good quality boards that were clean and easy to write on.

We will continue to use these whiteboards for phonics and during reading time each week, but we also get to use them in math with magnetic math manipulative's. Needless to say, my students and I are extremely thankful for your generous donations to this project as these whiteboards play a huge roll in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Archer

White boards make learning fun! Students do best with hands on activities that make learning engaging and fun. In small group and whole class activities they can be used for phonics and spelling practice, finding math solutions, and much more! They provide a means for quickly assessing if students have mastered a task or if they need further instruction. I have found that students are more engaged in learning when hands on activities are involved. White boards are easier to erase than conventional pencil on paper, making them more kid-friendly and more fun! Learning can be frustrating for children and even holding the pencil can make the task more laborious. Markers glide easily on the white boards and mistakes can be easily erased. Erasing and reconfiguring their response helps students to accept mistakes a little easier because white boards are more fun. I am trying to teach students that mistakes are ok, they are part of learning. It is easier to feel that way when you don't have to wear down the eraser of your pencil. I am requesting 20 whiteboards so that each student can have their own whiteboard without having to share. I am also requesting 2 sets of markers because let's face it, the kids cannot seem to remember to put the caps on. I am also requesting a dry erase board on wheels that could easily be moved around to accommodate our small group activities. I really like to work with my students in small groups with a high level of interaction. The board I’m requesting is a magnetic dry erase board but will also hold paper so it can be used for making anchor charts. I thank you in advance for your help. I can assure you my children will benefit greatly from your generosity!
