  • Art in Science and Social Studies

    Funded May 11, 2024

    I can not thank you enough for the supplies and furniture that you helped us obtain for our classroom. They have made a huge difference in our classroom community and the projects we have been able to do.

    In the classroom, we were able to create a calming corner with the blue couch. Students go there when they need a moment to themselves or to read a book. We also used the black out tent to create a space for students who needed a quiet, calm space away from the classroom.

    With the art supplies, we made paper-mache globes, painted murals connected to our ELA curriculum and made a theater for puppet shows of the books we were reading.

    We would not have been able to create this warm environment or do so many projects, without your generous gift and support. We have continued to use all of the supplies with our new class this year.

  • Sensory Classroom for Movement and Creativity

    Funded May 12, 2023

    I cannot thank you enough for the sensory material that you were able to provide for the classroom. Every item I showed the class was met with overwhelming excitement. Students wanted to touch and experience every thing, even the student without sensory needs. These items have brought joy to our classroom.

    At first each item had to be introduced separately. Students each had turns so that the initial excitement could be contained. Slowly, I have been able to leave out materials as students are learning to use them based on their needs. It has helps calm students and made them more focused. These additions have truly changed our environment.

  • MagnaTiles for Mathematics and STEAM Learning

    Thank you for your generous donation of Magna Tiles to my classroom. My students have been eager to learn math and design using these incredible tools. The looks on their faces when the boxes of Magna Tiles were delivered was the best image you can imagine. They could not wait to use the Magna Tiles.

    In class, my students have worked together to build and create structures using geometric principles and color design aesthetics. My math lessons have been enhanced using these tactile tools and have helped to engage all learners regardless of ability.

Students in my class have ownership of their own learning and a lot of what goes on happens organically.
