My students often face circumstances where someone in their family (or them) has a health issue that may be hard to understand. The funding for this project would help my students learn more about common health issues like cancer, AIDS, and even some cookbooks to open their minds to a broader, healthier view on food. We have found books that will help kids who themselves are living with a chronic illness, or who have a sibling or parent who is chronically sick. These books will replace our current out-of-date books in our collection. The new and updated covers will make them more appealing to the students to pick up and check out.
