Technology to Charge Third Grade Minds!
Funded Nov 27, 2023We are so grateful for the addition of these new materials to our classroom! The technology has enabled our students to have access to online learning networks for reading and math and has recently assisted them in researching for writing.
The technology allows more students to have access to invaluable learning resources. They have been able to access the web to research, use the dictionary to discover new vocabulary, engage in interactive learning games and more!
The iPads are also an excellent resource that gives an access point for students of all backgrounds. We have recently received two new students from Bangladesh and the iPads have been instrumental in translating not only academic work, but social conversations giving them access to their peers.”

Eager Engineers of the Future!
Funded Dec 24, 2017I want to send sincere thanks from the bottom of our hearts for your help in providing such fantastic materials for our classroom. When the boxes arrived the students were ecstatic! They couldn't wait to see what was inside. We played a guessing game to predict what our gifts could be, which built the excitement even more! The first box we opened was the giant doll house. The students screamed in excitement. They couldn't believe how big it was. One student even said, "It's so fancy, I'm so excited to play with it!"
The rest of the materials we slowly introduced as we began our unit on Where We Live and buildings in our community. The students worked to build their math, science and engineering skills as they explored the new bristle blocks and house building set. They worked both independently and together to discover new ways to build bigger, taller, and stronger buildings. They attempted to replicate buildings familiar to them such as their homes and school. The children love the earthquake simulator and are always up for the challenge of building a tower that can withstand the quake!
Of all the incredible items we received, the students are most interested in exploring the pretend tools. They were so intrigued that we decided to have a real construction worker come in and let the students try out real tools! The students helped the construction worker hammer together the frame of a box, screw on a piece of sheet rock and smooth the edges with sandpaper. The children are eager explorers and early engineers, preparing to be architects, carpenters, electricians and the builders of our future!
Thank you again for all of your support. The materials are treasured and will continue to be used by eager engineers in the years to come!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Arak
