Knife skills are the foundation for all good chefs. With the donation of these knives our students will have the opportunity to develop these cutting skill. This is an essential skill as a professional chef as well as a life skill for the home cook. In our program students learn the foundations of the culinary industry as well as how to have fun, be creative, work as a team, time management and develop cooking skills. A good knife can make your time in the kitchen enjoyable and safe, or a dull knife can make things dangerous and frustrating. Our current knives are very old and of low quality. I teach that a sharp knife is a safe knife but I only have low quality dull knives to offer the students.
