We Need A Fridge!

Help me give my students a refrigerator to keep their snacks, and rewards for perfect attendance such as ice cream cold and safe. The fridge we have currently in the staff is dilapidated and functions poorly.

  • Ready, Set, Move!

    My students were so excited to do PE with the new equipment! Every day they will ask which equipment will we use today, it makes me so happy to see how happy and eager to play together and exercise. When our package came I put the box on the carpet right in front of them. I said we got another surprise from a generous donor. A month earlier we had a project funded and received a new carpet so they were familiar with Donors Choose. They perked up and said open it! open it! As soon as I opened it they were so excited they jumped on their feet and said yay! Thank you soo much.”

  • Community Building on Our New Carpet!

    I want to describe how excited my students were when they saw the new carpet. The moment my students walked into class they immediately walked over to the new carpet and stared at it. They said, "Wow I like it!" Now when I call them to the carpet to hear a story or do some work they come with a smile. I love the carpet because my students have more room and they have their own designated colored circle. When I look at this carpet I'm reminded of your generosity and kind giving hearts.   • Supplies to Learn and Succeed!

    My students were over the moon to get their new supplies! They were so excited to be able to do a virtual painting activity and to use their new dry erase boards. Since receiving the supplies my students have done 4 art projects and this has brought them so much joy. I have posted their creations on our Class Dojo account to share with their family and friends and have received many positive comments on their masterpieces. My lessons are more interactive since they have their new dry erase boards. I can't thank you enough for bringing some happiness and excitement into our virtual learning. Our next classroom project will be to publish a class book with my students. The markers, and paint will certainly help them make their pages beautiful! Thank you for your generosity and kindness!”

  • Building our math understanding through play!

    The children were so excited to open the packages their faces lit up as they opened each box. They especially enjoyed the large magnet shapes. As they were playing they were having conversations using the geometric terms, such as; " can you hand me that rhombus, octagon"! As a teacher I was so excited to hear and see the learning that was taking place in a fun and exiting way. :) I am so enthusiastic to use these new items in my classroom. These items will enrich my students math experiences. I will be able to introduce a math concept and the children can do hands on activities that will strengthen their understanding.”

  • Chrome Books for TK!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

    My students are learning valuable skills like how to log in, and navigate the mouse. Many of them did not know how to do simple tasks such as connect ear phones to a chrome book or use the mouse. Now they are turning the chrome books on, plugging their ear phones in, and have the confidence to log in. Students are also gaining confidence to help a peer who is having trouble logging on or navigate a program! They are so excited when it's their turn to use the chrome books they have smiles on their face as they are using these chrome books. Your donation is helping me make learning fun as well as teach them skills. Thank you again!”

What I will do if this project is funded, is that my students will have access to these computers on a daily basis. The eight chromebooks will allow my students to use quality programs designed to help English Language learners as well as Native speakers at their level. They will be assessed and the program will customize their level based on how they fared through the assessment. Because there are 8 computers I could rotate through all 24 of my students in one day. While my students are developing their skills on the computers I will be able to implement and teach my curriculum with my other remaining students. This rotation will greatly enrich the learning taking place in my classroom. Your generous donation to our project will improve my Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom by building stronger readers and writers. This will change my current students and future students' lives for the better.
