My students will benefit from using chrome books during Socratic dialogue to bridge the gap between nonfiction reading and the lab\investigation portion of the lesson. Socratic dialogue is a method of learning that involves higher order questioning by the teacher to guide the students toward exploring concepts. Students explore these concepts through making claims and evaluating evidence based on connections to real-life experiences, phenomena, and past learning. This process involves the instructor establishing and facilitating a chat room that helps in getting students thinking about the scientific principles that they will be exploring during the hands-on portion of the lesson.
