Our band program consists of two equally important parts: our concert band and our marching band. In the fall, our marching band performs outside, while in motion, for students, parents, and the entire community at our half time and battle of the band performance. Additionally, our band draws in parents and the community, creating family engagement at our football games, band battles, and parades. Our stakeholders are engaged in their children's education because they can see and hear their growth weekly in our public performances. We are asking for funding to purchase a drone and camcorder that can be used to capture our performances in a different way other than the usual angles. This STEAM project will allow students to operate a drone the student media team to create videos utilizing footage gathered and learned. Students will also develop their brainstorming skills when planning their video projects. This will include them using audio and video editing programs and mapping out recording angles. With this project, my students will develop team work skills which will help them function as an adult when they graduate from high school. When in the workforce, they will understand the importance of completing their task in order for the team to succeed.
