  • Time for Kids

    Funded Nov 29, 2021

We love reading the current event articles from Time for Kids. The relevant up to date articles has helped our initiative to become global citizens who stay up to date on current events.

The weekly issues remind us that the only source of information is not the internet. We have print resources as well! We paired this current event learning with listening to a kids podcast about current events. We have really enjoyed spending time exploring what is going on in the world around us!

Thank you so much for your contributions to our classroom and our learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Popow

  • Supporting Remote Learners

    Funded Jan 4, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to support our classroom community. This year has so many unique challenges for us all and we have immense gratitude for you helping us have what we need to teach and learn the best we can. The dual screens and document makes remote learning more engaging and easier for both the teachers and the students. Both these technologies have allowed us to do activities and lessons we otherwise wouldn't have been able to do. We can not thank you enough for your continued support!”

Thank you so much again for the kindness you've shown myself and my students. The resources you've allowed us to have with your generous donations have enriched student learning. • New Year Needs

    Funded Jun 27, 2018

Thank you so much for helping to fund the start of our school year! We've already started making our own models of globes using paper mache, glue, balloons and paint! The students are learning as well as building a positive classroom environment! So far this year, we have gotten off to a great start! My co-teacher and I were able to organize and decorate the classroom so it maximizes student independence, learning time in addition to it being a welcoming environment to students, parents, other teachers and staff, and siblings. We appreciate your continued support!”

  • Classroom Basics

    Funded Jan 23, 2018

We now have several new bulletin boards up using the resources provided! The new bulletin boards are eye catching and a great way to share our students work! The envelopes will be put to good use come report card time!

Our students were so excited unpacking all the materials. They continuously asked what we would be using them for! They are anxiously awaiting to use the solar system activities in May/June.

Next up in our classroom, we will be working on narrative writing, reading and responding to literature and in math, fractions!”

  • Classroom Essentials for 5th Grade!

    Funded Dec 2, 2017

We just received our generous donations and I can't explain to you the excitement that the students showed while we unpacked the supplies! They were all actively engaged with the opening, distribution and the putting away of the materials. We gave each of our students a glue stick to be responsible for and they were ecstatic! My students, as well as my team teachers and myself are so grateful for your help.

So far, we used the materials to give our students the necessary glue stick for their everyday use. Our class also did a holiday craft of marbleizing paper to make tree ornaments as well as a holiday experiment of which cookie absorbs the most milk (chocolate chip cookies absorb the most milk) with the help of your donation. We have many more plans for the use of the supplies.

Right now, we are studying the rain forest and the ancient civilizations. We plan to construct a rain forest emersion experience in the fifth grade hallway for the schools younger students to enjoy. We will also be building pyramids and constructing masks in this unit. As you can see, we try to make our units filled with hands on experiences and you helped make that possible. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Popow

We are an Integrated Co-Teaching Classroom. So, we have special education students and general education students in our classes. We have a wide variety of needs to meet. Our students enjoy projects and group work. This year is their final year in elementary school and they are looking forward to middle school. We manage our classroom with Classroom Economies. This allows students to be exposed to salaries, rent, bonuses and fines. It is our goal to embed financial literacy instruction into our curriculum. Financial literacy can help minimizing the achievement gap. We are a passionate group of learners and teachers and thank you for any help you might offer!
