As a teacher of 26 students, it is my mission to reach the diverse needs of each and every one of them, but the truth is that I cannot do it effectively without technology. Computers are excellent resources because they provide the opportunity for students to work at their own pace, on their own level, and computers also help us keep track of data on student progress. In our classroom, we engage in 5 rotations-20 minutes of ELA/reading/writing groups 4 days per week in small group differentiation. Math groups are also incorporated into our classroom. In these groups, students receive detailed differentiated instruction to meet their changing needs. The Chromebooks will help meet them at their level. We utilize various websites to instruct/intervene/challenge students such as Readtheory, MobyMax, Frontrow, Quizlet, Spelling City..etc. These are just a few of the commonly used websites. In addition, I teach my students coding. It makes it incredibly difficult to do so without readily available access to computers in my classroom. I would love to incorporate more STEAM resources into my classroom. Also, these computers will help meet the diverse needs of Tier 3 Response to Intervention students to help them receive additional support measures.
