Second Monitor
Funded Mar 16, 2021My students and I are extremely excited to receive your generous gift of a second monitor.
Teaching remotely has been a challenge for both me and my students. Having a second monitor made it easier for me to effectively plan lessons and teach my students. With the second monitor, I was able to create interactive google slides, and share them, while teaching virtually through google classroom. While teaching, I was able to have my slides on one monitor and see all my students on the second monitor. This made it easier for me to interact with them, as I was able to see everyone on the second monitor.
Having this second monitor truly made a difference in our remote learning experience. We are grateful to you for providing us with this technology tool.”

Read! Read!
Funded Oct 22, 2020My students and I would like to thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Due to this pandemic, they are learning remotely and do not have access to reading resources. Many of them are at a disadvantage because of their socio-economic status; but, because of you, they are now equipped with reading materials needed to help them improve their reading and writing skills. Your recent donation shows that you understand the value of education and the importance of empowering students to believe, hope, dream and achieve. Thank you so very much!”

Literacy - The Road to College
Funded May 10, 2019THANK YOU!!!! It was heart-warming to observe the joy on my students' faces when the boxes of resources were delivered to our classroom. They were eager to open the boxes and could not wait to begin using the resources.
My students were extremely excited to work with the "Snap & Build Sight-Words". By using these sight word builders, most of my students were able to not only improve their sight word recognition skills, but they were also able to correctly spell their sight words. By interacting with this particular manipulative, students began challenging each other on how quickly they could identify and spell their sight words. The snap and build was also used together with the Word Building. These two sets of resources became a central part of our "Fun Fridays" when we worked on our word building skills.
The CVC word builder became a hit with many of the students who had a hard time sounding out and creating CVC words. Being able to use the picture cues, helped build their self-confidence and allowed them to work independently. It was refreshing to observe these particular students go to the literacy center and use the resources without being prompted by me.
The "Creating Sight-Word Sentences Center" was a favorite of the higher level students. Not only were they confident in creating and fluently reading short sentences, they extended their learning experience by writing their own sentences.
With your support, I was able to see a huge improvement in the literacy development of my students. As I continue building their literacy skills, I am looking forward to expanding my classroom library. Thanks again for all your support.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Crafton
