My students have limited access to books, especially those that interest them. It is crucial to spark interest in reading and that becomes much easier with a variety of well written books. I believe the more students read, the more knowledge they have, larger vocabulary, broader perspectives, and far better writing skills. Many of the students do not have access to books other than at school. It is my goal to give them a chance to be literate and find enjoyment in reading. These library books will help all students, families, and teachers throughout our school immensely and provide skills necessary for success in the future. The library is outdated and hasn't received new books in years. My students love to read, but struggle to find books of interest in our library. They ask for popular books, specific genres and eras that interest them. Often, I find it hard to meet their requests. Thank you in advance for helping our school and all the students within it. I look forward to displaying pictures of our gratitude!
