Learning at Home
Funded Jun 12, 2020Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom! With our Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, we were able to purchase posters for the classroom and activities for both school and home learning. This has made the transition back into the classroom that much smoother.
With the gift card, we purchased signage that teaches the important new rules for this year including how to properly wash your hands, how to wear your mask accurately, and general safety rules that will help keep everyone safe and healthy. We have completed activities on hand washing and mask wearing which reinforced these rules.
The gift card has also bought materials that students can use when they are at home learning such as sight word flash cards. Thank you so much for making the start of school a great experience!”

Mini-Lesson Must Haves!
Funded May 7, 2019Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our project! We have been using the clipboards everyday in class. It makes it so much easier to complete work on the rug. It allows the students to sit closer to the board to follow directions and copy down important information. The students have also loved using the small easel. It makes our phonics work more constructive by having easy access to the board in order to manipulative the magnetic letter tiles. Our class is very appreciative of your generosity. Thank you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and 3 other donors.Literacy Centers
Funded Jan 30, 2019Thank you so much for your contribution to fund materials for our new Literacy Centers! The students in Class 103 have been working very hard on literacy through reading and writing classes, but they still need more exposure to phonics work. By receiving literacy games, the students are able to independently practice phonics work. The students absolutely love playing group games with the "What's the Rhyme Sorting Houses". They are learning through game-play which makes the work fun! Students can also independently choose work from the "Phonics Skills Activity Center Pack" and "Touch and Read CVC Words Match" to practice their phonics work. Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom and our phonics work to help make us better readers and writers!”

Flexible Seating for Fabulous 2nd Graders!
Funded Nov 1, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations! We are now proud owners of a new carpet, floor seats, cushions, and wobble stools! The materials were delivered while the students were at lunch and I was able to set up the room with all of our new furniture. The surprise and smiles on their faces when they saw our transformed room was amazing! All of the students got a chance to test out all of the new seating options.
Now we have learned to take turns sharing the seating options while also utilizing the seating option that is best for each student. It has allowed the students a greater chance to take charge or their learning and fostered independence in the classroom. Your donations are so greatly appreciated and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity!”

Rockin' Readers!
Funded Jan 24, 2018My students and I are beyond grateful that you have funded our project! The Super 2nd Graders absolutely LOVE the tablets and have been using them to improve their reading. During our reading periods, our students are able to log into different reading programs that allow students to read along to a text that is read aloud to them. This is beneficial because students are able to read a text that may be too difficult to read independently. Being able to read along to more challenging books, increases students' ability to read. Also, they are exposed to higher interest and more engaging texts. Students are also able to access reading apps that engage students through the use of games to work on their letters, sounds, and sight words. These beginning reading practices are helping these students improve their reading levels.
The use of technology in the classroom is an engaging way to get our students excited about reading! We plan to use these tablets to research different topics and present a research project to the class. The Super 2nd Graders are connecting to the world through the new technology in our classroom. We are so grateful for your generosity and we will continue to improve our reading through the use of your gift!”
