Every chance my students get (which is often), they want flexible seating. Some students stand at the counter by the window. Some sit with pillows. Others sit on the carpet and use a clipboard. Stability balls will add to their seating options. What I think will help them most with using the stability balls is that they will keep a straight posture which is necessary to be in a state of ready to learn (instead of slouching). When we write our essays, students are sitting for long periods of time. I would love for them to have these instead of chairs. Stability balls will make a difference in my students' learning because it will be more comfortable to sit on for longer periods instead of normal, straight back chairs. Maybe some of them will look forward to writing! It will improve their school lives because if they are comfortable, then they will be able to focus more and spend more energy on their academics than trying to get comfortable.
