  • Pick a SEAT! Any SEAT!

    Funded Aug 24, 2021

Thank you kindly for this generous gift to my students. We have been blessed beyond measure to be given the opportunity to have alternative seating. I believe this will give students an opportunity to concentrate like never before. What a wonderful surprise to see this got funded! Thank you x100!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simon

  • Organizational Madness!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

On behalf of my students and myself, we are so grateful for you donations. Without you, this project would not be possible. The students will be able to get organized and keep track of all their assignments and I just know this will get them excited for school. This is such a blessing.”

  • Everybody is a Genius.

    Funded Dec 28, 2017

Every year I now read this story to the kids and every year its a book that is talked about ALL YEAR long. It's a story that sticks with them for the long term. We all have that one novel that we can remember from our childhood. It is now going to be a movie soon! We are so excited to have a class set now and it continues to be a relatable story for the students. More teachers are starting to read this and the tradition will continue. Thank you for all the support and the many gifts you continue to bless my students with each year. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving.”

  • No More Dead Batteries!

    Funded Mar 18, 2021

My students were so excited to not have to sit on the floor next to an outlet to complete their work. We only had 4 outlets in the classroom and it was a mess trying to get them charged up and social distanced from each other. All of a sudden students were back at their desks with the portable charges and continuing the work and it was so much less stress on them. I wasn't harping on them to charge every night so that it didn't create a distraction. All around this has been a blessing for all of us and more teachers are looking to purchase these same chargers! Thank you”

  • For the LOVE of READING!

    Funded May 28, 2020

When the books arrived the students didn't seem so pleased. They didn't have an interest in reading such a long book. This feeling only lasted as long as the first chapter. They became HOOKED! Every day they begged to keep reading. Instead of moaning and groaning about reading, they were doing it because we hit a stopping point for the day. The impact of this book was so profound to my students. Many of them connected to the main character and they have not stopped talking about it yet. Thank you for bringing back the love of reading in my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simon

  • Can You Hear Me??

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

What an incredible opportunity you have given my students! Thank you for this gift. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I cannot wait to see their faces when these headphones arrive. Life for them just became a little more easy in this pandemic! Sometimes it’s the little things that matter the most.”

  • Organizational Madness!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

When I open the box of planners for my students their eyes lit up! They all eagerly opened their binders to insert their new gift! They are becoming super organized students and enjoy writing down all of their assignments and learning to refer back to them so that they can stay on track and not missing assignment due dates. These planners will instill such great organizational skills and I know they are so grateful to our donors for these gifts. The impact you have made in 75 students will be everlasting.”

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Our hearts are filled with gratitude! We are so grateful for your generosity to our students and to our classroom community! These lessons will be incredibly fun for my students and during these unpredictable times of Covid-19, I am delighted to get their minds in a positive place! Wow!”

This wonderful book is about a girl named Ally who has been crafty enough to fool many smart people. Every time she lands in a new school, she is able to hide her inability to read by creating clever yet disruptive distractions. She is horrified to ask for help; after all, how can you cure dumb? However, her newest teacher Mr. Daniels sees the bright, creative kid underneath the trouble maker. With his help, Ally learns not to be so hard on herself and that dyslexia is nothing to be ashamed of. This is an example of character vs. self, because Ally is fighting with her dyslexia. As her confidence grows, Ally feels free to be herself and the world starts opening up with possibilities. Lynda Mullaly Hunt’s Fish in a Tree is a fictitious novel about three kids: Ally, Keisha, and Albert, who “set the world on fire” as they overcome challenges and conflicts. This is what many of my students deal with on a daily basis and I feel the connection they will have for this book is HUGE. We will read it together as a class and complete many fun and engaging projects. I hope that many will turn around to LOVE reading.
