  • Preschool On the Go!

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The students were super excited to use the "Transportation" materials to engineer vehicles, and other inventions.

Upon arrival, we added the Cars, Boats and Plane kits to our STEM area of the classroom where the students take turns exploring and creating with them. These materials will assist in building critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These kits will help strengthen their scientific and mathematical skills while providing an active learning experience using vital manipulatives. The students loved reading the books in our reading area. These books tied in with our Transportation theme and enhanced student content knowledge.

We are grateful for the addition of these valuable materials to our classroom and look forward to using them for years to come.”

  • PreK Scientific Exploration

    Funded Aug 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The students were very excited to receive new furniture for our classroom. The child-sized table and chairs have been a great contribution to our science center. The rug that sits on the floor under the table set helps to make the area comfortable for scientific exploration.

Our students use the table and chairs daily during center time as well as during small group instruction where we are participating in ongoing science experiments. For example, we used to table when we carved our pumpkin and explored using our 5 senses.

The table comfortable seats 4 friends and allows room for using manipulatives without the students crowding one another.

The table set has made our science area more inviting and our students have been very eager to use it.

Thanks again for your generosity. These materials will be used in our classroom for years to come.”

The children in my classroom have a strong desire to explore and discover. Their natural curiosity affords them ample opportunities to interact, question, connect, problem-solve, communicate, reflect and extend their learning. Exposing students to state of the art materials assists them in maintaining competitive in the academic field. The use of the requested Nikon camera and an Apple MacBook Airlaptop computer will allow them to be active participants in their learning. They will use the camera to document their experiences in the classroom. For instance, the children have been exploring nature and pretending to take pictures of things they view; pumpkins, apples, leaves, etc. using their fingers as pretend cameras. Now they can use a real camera. Also, they will be able to use the laptop to research real-world topics as well as take virtual field trips. Utilizing technology in the classroom will assist my students in creating new memories and fostering new experiences that would otherwise not be possible.
